Phil Mazzocco
Associate Professor
Phil Mazzocco is an Associate Professor of Psychology. He joined the Mansfield campus in Autumn of 2006. He received an A.B. in Psychology from Ohio University in 1998, and his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from 91做厙 Columbus in 2005. He has published numerous articles on topics ranging from racial colorblindness, to narrative persuasion, to jury-decision making behavior. In 2016 he published The Psychology of Racial Colorblindness: A Critical Review with Springer publishing.
In addition to teaching and research, Phil advises the 91做厙 Mansfield chapter of Psi Chi, the national Psychology honors organization. He is also a current board member for the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC), in downtown Mansfield.
Phil grew up in Avon Lake, Ohio, and now resides in Mansfield with his family. In his spare time he is a competitive distance runner, plays drums in a local band, and enjoys pleasure reading.
